And because nothing was biting, dad went to the other (more dangerous) side of the wharf where he met with...little success. He only caught two small, measly fishes that we decided to use as bait...
And here was mum who retired under a tree to escape the heat and read her novels...I don't blame her, it was pretty hot that day...
Ahh, here are the three fishes we caught...two by dad and one by mum (the big one).
As you can see, there are two bugs on the big fish. They were found in the gills of the big fish- EWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! Seriously, I'm so glad we didn't EAT these fish, how DISGUSTING would that've been???
The next day, we went back to the same place and this time, we were quite successful - dad caught the biggest fish (top), this fish (I forgot it's name) has flesh that is noted for having a soft, velvety texture - an expensive delicacy in HK - so I guess we were lucky :)
Someone left this sand 'sculpture'- I have no idea what it is but it looks like a... SHOE PRINT???? I'll leave it up to your imaginations...
On our last night, we met up with the rest of the fishing trip gang AKA dad's students (with their many kids)
and the kids decided to play a little dare game...
Dare 1: Eat a whole tablespoon of wasabi - check.
Dare 1: Eat a whole tablespoon of wasabi - check.
Dare 2: Kiss the fish on the mouth - check.
Dare 3: Withstand icecubes stuffed down the back of shirt for 10 seconds - check.
Dare 4: Sing Mary had a Little Lamb to everyone in the room - check.
Dare 5: Piggy-back someone around the whole house - check.
There were actually a lot of dares thought not all were snapped and recorded...haha...too bad...
Anyway, this is the end of our fishing trip for 2009...
